How to Watch NFL Without Cable in 2026: Every Package Explained

The NFL is the most watched product in American television and, awkwardly, the most fragmented. Seven different companies carry games in 2026, and no single subscription gets you all of them. The good news for cord cutters is that the largest share of the season — Sunday afternoons — is free over the air.

Here is every package, what it costs, and the cheapest way to cover a season.

Who has what in 2026

Super Bowl LXI airs on ABC and ESPN on February 14, 2027 at 6:30 p.m. ET. The AFC Championship is on CBS and Paramount+; the NFC Championship is on FOX.

The free option most people skip

An antenna gets you CBS, FOX, NBC and ABC. That is Sunday afternoons, Sunday Night Football, Monday Night Football's ABC simulcasts, the conference championships, and the Super Bowl — the great majority of the NFL calendar, at no recurring cost.

An indoor antenna runs $20 to $60. Check a coverage map for your address before buying: reception depends far more on distance from the transmitter and terrain than on price, and an attic or roof mount substantially outperforms a window unit in fringe areas.

If you only watch your local team, an antenna plus nothing else may genuinely be enough.

Building a full-season setup

ServiceMonthlyWhat it adds
Antenna~$35 onceCBS, FOX, NBC, ABC — most of the season
Amazon Prime$14.99 ($139/yr)Thursday Night Football and the holiday games
Peacock Premium$12.99 ($129.99/yr)Sunday Night Football, Week 17 Saturday exclusive
Paramount+ Essential$8.99 ($89.99/yr)CBS games if you cannot get an antenna signal
Fox One$19.99 ($199.99/yr)FOX, FS1, Fox Deportes, Big Ten Network
ESPN Unlimited$31.99 ($319.99/yr)Monday Night Football and the ESPN networks
NetflixFrom $8.99The handful of Netflix-exclusive games

A practical minimum: antenna plus Amazon Prime covers Sunday afternoons, Sunday and Monday night simulcasts on ABC, and Thursday nights, for about $139 a year plus hardware.

Two bundles are worth knowing about. ESPN and Fox One sell together at $39.99 a month, which undercuts buying both separately. Verizon myPlan and myHome customers have been offered Fox One at $15 a month. Check your mobile and internet provider's perks page before subscribing to anything — carriers use streaming inclusions aggressively, and paying twice is common.

Or take one live TV package

If you would rather not assemble services, one live TV subscription covers CBS, FOX, NBC, ESPN and NFL Network.

ServiceMonthlyNotes
DirecTV MyEntertainmentFrom $34.99Skinny bundle; verify sports channels for your market
Sling TVFrom about $45.99Blue has NBC and FOX; Orange has ESPN. Neither has everything
Fubo Sports + News$64.99~29 channels; NBC and USA returning by market after a carriage dispute
YouTube TV$82.99Full lineup, and the only home of Sunday Ticket
Fubo Pro$88.99 plus RSN fee216+ channels, includes ESPN and ESPN+
Hulu + Live TV$89.99Full lineup, includes Disney+ and ESPN content
DirecTV Stream$84.99–$171.98Most comprehensive lineups

At roughly $1,000 a year, a full live TV package costs more than assembling three streaming apps. It earns its price only if you also want news, other sports and general entertainment.

Out-of-market games: Sunday Ticket

If you follow a team outside your market, local broadcasts will not carry their games. NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube is the only answer.

List pricing for 2026 is $378 a year with a YouTube TV subscription, or $480 standalone — but almost nobody should pay that. New subscribers have been offered $240 a year; students pay $119 with SheerID verification; teachers, military, veterans, first responders and medical workers pay $198 through ID.me. The NFL RedZone add-on runs roughly $40 more.

What you need from your internet

QualityRecommended throughput
HD10–15 Mbps
4K25 Mbps or more
Two concurrent streams50 Mbps or more

Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET is the single most concentrated streaming window in American television. A connection that feels fine midweek can struggle then.

Two fixes worth the effort: run wired Ethernet to your primary streaming device, which removes most buffering, and — if you are cancelling cable but keeping internet from the same provider — renegotiate before you cancel. Bundle discounts routinely lapse when the TV portion goes, and comparing fiber and fixed-wireless providers serving your address gives you leverage in that call.

Where is Monday Night Football? ESPN, with several games simulcast on ABC.

Bottom line

Buy an antenna first. Add Amazon Prime for Thursdays and Peacock for Sunday nights, and you have covered nearly the whole season for around $270 a year. Sunday Ticket only matters if your team plays somewhere else — and even then, check whether you qualify for the student or first-responder rate before paying list price.
